After nearly 15 years in construction, I came to realize that what I valued most was not the work itself, but the opportunities to lend personal support to apprentices and colleagues. Through those experiences, I witnessed the power of vulnerability—particularly as it applies to men—and saw a shift toward a career in counselling as a way to be of service more aligned with my values and energy.
First and foremost, I am here to listen and to help you feel safe. I believe there is SO much power in creating safety with another person, and every step of our work together will be rooted in that idea. I also believe strongly in the importance of incorporating somatic and experiential approaches in counselling to create meaningful and lasting change. I like to describe this as “allowing the body to believe what the mind knows.” Together, we can explore what this means for you, and find the practices that best support opening those lines of communication within.
I am IFS Informed (Internal Family Systems) and will draw from the empowering and non-pathologizing framework it provides, as we work together to better understand your parts and bring balance to your system. My areas of practice include working with individuals who experience depression, anxiety, excess stress and unintegrated trauma, as well as couples who wish to improve their communication and understanding of one another. I welcome anyone to reach out who feels we may resonate well together and very much look forward to helping you realize the changes in your life that have been calling!
